Guidelines for Admin Times Formatting
This topic is intended for Independent pharmacies only and is not applicable to Rexall pharmacies.
Admin Times must be formatted correctly to ensure doses are packaged correctly by a non-retail packager and appear in the correct slots on Compliance or administration reports. The guidelines below outline the required formatting for Admin Times. See Table 1 for examples.
-
Use 24-hour/military time (e.g., 13:00 to reflect 1pm).
-
Enter 4-digits with the hours and minutes separated by a colon (:). The only exception to this is PRN and non-retail packager prescriptions. If a non-retail packager is set for a prescription, you may enter the Admin Times in the following formats and Propel Rx will automatically convert them to 4-digits with a colon.
Acceptable formatting for non-retail packager prescriptions-
Enter with or without a colon (e.g., 0800 or 08:00).
-
Enter with or without preceeding or trailing zeroes (e.g., 8, 8:00, or 08:00).
-
Use 24-hour/military time (e.g., 20:00 to reflect 8pm)
-
-
Do not enter spaces, including in between Admin Times.
-
Separate multiple Admin Times using commas (,).
-
Enter a comma (,) for each time slot in the compliance package or MAR/TAR report that's skipped. If the Map AdminTimes preference is ON, this is not required for Compliance reports. Commas are always required for MAR/TAR reports to space Admin Times regardless of the Map AdminTimes preference.
-
Do not include alpha characters unless the Admin Time is PRN. This is required for non-retail packager prescriptions. It also applies for Compliance reports if the Map AdminTimes preference is ON; alpha Admin Times are not mapped on Compliance reports if this preference is ON.
Each Admin Time is directly linked to a position on Compliance and administration reports (e.g., Compliance Dosett Grid, Compliance Preparation Log, Compliance Blister Packaging, MAR, TAR). If you intend to use these reports, correct data entry is required for the doses to appear appropriately. For more information on how Admin Times are positioned on these reports, see Admin Times on Compliance Packaging Reports and Admin Times on MAR and TAR Reports.
Table 1. Sample dosing scenarios and proper Admin Time formatting.

*Mapping of Admin Times to Passtimes (i.e., Morning, Noon, Evening, Bedtime) can vary between non-retail packagers. The Admin Times in the table are examples.
